Fall in LOVE with your practice.
Here’s how to LOVE your yoga practice.
Start off by making a shift to your expectations. Every moment doesn’t need ot be perfect or enjoyable - even during the most rewarding classes, there can be moments of difficulty or frustration, so shift your expectations and consider the hardest moments as challenges that can be overcome and know those moments are when you feel the toughest and find the most strength. Find joy in the simple act of showing up and becoming mentally and physically stronger.
Aim to strive for momentum even when you don’t feel motivated. That’s because consistency and routine are so important! Its habit, process, and schedule - there’s no being “good” or “bad at yoga. Just give it your best effort, and then try it again and again.
It’s all about find a community you’re comfortable with and a space where you feel connected. One reason that practice makes us happy is that it can help foster connection to others. Joining our studio is the perfect way to stay committed, meet new friends, and face challenges together. When we move in sync with other people, our bodies enter a state — our brains enter a state that neuroscientists call ‘we mode,”. We enter a state of togetherness that is biologically real, and we can sense it as a kind of trust and closeness and belonging. And that’s just so Awesome!
We always say, “yoga is not a workout, because it’s not work”. It’s practice, a ritual, and when can be content with where we are even when we strive to do more in our practice.
